Village Networks locates wireless transmitters on aerials at strategic locations, in the same way that mobile telephone operators and broadcasters do. Those transmitters have their own very fast, high capacity connections to the internet. All you need to join that network is small aerial on your house – usually on the chimney or at the eaves. The aerial is connected directly to your computer, or a network hub in your home or office. And that’s it – dazzlingly fast connections are yours, up to 10Mbps. That’s more than 100 times faster than an ordinary dial-up connection!
Village Networks technology is advanced and robust. It's so effective and so dependable, local authorities use Village Networks to install and maintain main connections – and backups for other connections – between their offices, schools and remote outposts.
What's needed to make wireless work?
You don’t need any expertise, or a special computer, to connect with Village Networks. You do need to have a line-of-sight from your home or office and one of our aerials. Our connections can work over significant distances, so don’t worry if a Village Networks aerial can’t be seen with the naked eye. And don’t worry if a line-of-sight can’t be found to an existing aerial. In five years of connecting properties in remote or difficult locations, we’re proud to say that Village Networks has never failed!
In most cases, a simple site survey will tell us all we need to work out a way to connect you.
